Art * Music * Literature: Mark your calendar for our 14th annual and biggest art festival EVER, on September 18+19 this year. Come enjoy fantastic live music, poetry readings, children’s corner, art demos, and tasty food & refreshments as you peruse 55 juried fine artist & fine craft works on a stroll along Larry Holmes Drive & the Delaware Riverside in Easton.

Notable Artists include Eric Caseiro, who will be displaying whimsical wall hangings and free-standing sculptures he created using punk-welding techniques on found metal objects, making each piece unique. Patricia Gambino will display her functional stoneware- the heart of her Clay Impressions Pottery as well as her “Trial by Fire” pieces, which incorporate natural materials such as wood, dried plant matter, and copper wire. Capturing the creative spirit, Jeff Waterhouse will exhibit his free-blown glass art while Robert Noonan will reveal his two and three-dimensional artwork in large-scale reliefs of wood and oil. These are just a few examples of the wide variety of artists who will be exhibiting their work.

The power of the written word will be revealed when The Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group participates in the festival with a series of readings by several of the group’s authors from 11 am to 1 pm on both days. Members who will be reading excerpts of their written work include: Ann Boyle, Diane Nelson, Elizabeth Bodien, Fern J. Hill, Mel Hodges, John Evans, Kathleen Coddington, Mike Flynn, Sally Lukenbach, and Steven Walker.  Hill and Walker will be available for Sunday only.  A special tent area will be devoted for the writers’ readings.

Those looking for Live Music can enjoy the following diverse lineup of local talent: Only Human Band and Becca & Jake will play on Saturday afternoon. Sunday music will include James Supra Maria Woodford and Jake Heck Hillbilly Souls. Heavy Traffic will also be strolling around the festival and will perform some inspired bluegrass jams on Sunday.

This year will also feature BlickArt's 100th Anniversary plein air painting contest featuring $500 in prizes for the top-three painters (still a few canvases left! only $10.- to enter)...

The Riverside Festival is a multi-arts event, the centerpiece of which is a Juried Art Show and Sale showcasing local artists and artisans from the tri-state area. Art and fine crafts will be exhibited for sale and for evaluation by this year’s panel of 3 judges - local artist KimRobertson, Lehigh Valley Hospital art curator Christine Oaklander, and fine artist/film documentarain Wei Jane Chir. $1600 in cash prizes will be awarded in two categories: Fine Arts, which includes painting, drawing, pastel, printmaking, photography and sculpture; and Fine Crafts, featuring jewelry, mosaic, fabric and fiber, stained glass, metalwork, woodwork and claywork.

Critically acclaimed Easton artist Kim Robertson (KimRobertsonArt.com) created the wonderful and whimsical “Festive, Funky Riverside” 2010 poster art. This painting is now offered for sale, proceeds to benefit ACE (artist community of easton). It is displayed in the front window of Connexions Gallery in downtown Easton.

Easton Clayworks Director, Bill Iacovone will be on-hand to create some really cool firefly and bug projects @ children's tent, 11-4 both days. The children's tent is FREE, and will also feature fun Crayola supplies to try out - sidewalk chalk, markers, loads of neat art supplies for kids. THANK YOU, Crayola - for your support and continued festival sponsorship!
